User-Generated Content Policy

1. Introduction

This User-Generated Content ("UGC") Policy governs the submission, display, and management of content created and shared by users on the Dalwadi Samaj platform. By using our Service to create or share content, you agree to this policy.

2. Types of User-Generated Content

UGC on our platform includes but is not limited to:

• Profile information: Name, bio details, and profile photographs
• Community posts: Text content and images shared in the social feed
• Comments and likes: Interactions on community posts
• Stories: Ephemeral photo and video content visible for 24 hours
• Direct messages: Text, images, audio recordings, video, and files sent to other users
• Family tree data: Genealogical information, relationships, and family member profiles
• Venue information: Venue listings, descriptions, photos, and booking details submitted by property owners
• Blood donor information: Self-reported blood group and donation willingness

3. Content Ownership and License

3.1 Your Ownership

You retain all ownership rights to the content you submit. We do not claim ownership of your UGC.

3.2 License Grant

By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display your content in connection with operating and improving our Service.

3.3 License Duration

This license continues even if you stop using our Service, to the extent your content has been shared with others or incorporated into the family tree, unless you request deletion in accordance with our deletion policy. Stories automatically expire and are deleted after 24 hours.

4. Content Standards

All content submitted must comply with the following standards. These apply to all content types including posts, stories, messages, profile information, and venue listings.

4.1 Acceptable Content

• Accurate and truthful information
• Family-friendly and respectful content
• Content relevant to the community
• Original content or content you have rights to share

4.2 Prohibited Content

You may NOT submit content that:

• Is false, misleading, or fraudulent
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains hate speech, discrimination, or harassment
• Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
• Promotes violence or illegal activities
• Contains personal information of others without their consent
• Is spam, advertising, or unsolicited promotional material
• Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Violates any applicable laws or regulations
• Disrespects religious or cultural sentiments
• Shares medical misinformation (especially relevant to blood donor feature)
• Attempts to solicit money or financial transactions from other users

5. Family Tree Content Guidelines

When adding or editing family tree information:

• Only add individuals you have legitimate knowledge of
• Ensure relationship information is accurate (parent, spouse, sibling links)
• Obtain consent before adding living individuals' detailed information
• Do not add false family connections
• Respect privacy of family members who wish not to be listed
• Do not mark living individuals as deceased
• Report errors or disputes through proper channels
• When creating managed profiles for family members, provide accurate information since those individuals may later claim and verify their profiles

6. Direct Messaging Guidelines

Direct messages are subject to the same content standards as public content. Additionally:

• New conversations require a chat request that the recipient must approve; do not abuse the chat request system
• Do not send unsolicited, repetitive, or harassing messages
• Do not share messages or media received from others without their consent
• Audio and video content shared in messages must comply with all content standards
• While we do not proactively monitor private messages, we may review reported content

7. Stories Guidelines

Stories are visible to all community members for 24 hours:

• All content standards apply to stories
• Be aware that story views are tracked and visible to the story creator
• Stories automatically expire and are deleted after 24 hours
• Do not post time-sensitive or emergency information exclusively in stories, as they are ephemeral

8. Content Moderation

We reserve the right to moderate all user-generated content:

• Content may be reviewed before or after publication
• We may remove content that violates this policy without prior notice
• We may edit content to comply with guidelines
• Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination
• We may use automated systems to detect policy violations
• Admin users have the ability to remove posts, comments, and other content

9. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content that violates this policy:

• Use the in-app reporting feature available on posts and profiles

• Provide specific details about the violation
• Include any relevant screenshots or evidence

We aim to review all reports within 48 hours.

10. Copyright and DMCA

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright:

• Send a DMCA notice to [email protected]
• Include identification of the copyrighted work
• Identify the infringing material with specific location
• Provide your contact information
• Include a statement of good faith belief
• Include a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury
• Your physical or electronic signature

11. Content Removal and Appeals

If your content is removed:

• You will be notified of the reason for removal where possible
• You may appeal the decision within 14 days
• Appeals will be reviewed by a different moderator
• Final decisions are at our sole discretion

12. Content Upon Account Deletion

When your account is deleted (either by you or by us):

• Your posts, comments, likes, stories, and messages will be permanently deleted
• Family tree connections you created will be unlinked but may persist as "unknown parent" placeholders to preserve tree structure for other users
• Content that has been shared or reposted by other users may persist in their context
• Deletion is subject to a 30-day grace period as described in our Data Deletion Policy
